INAUGURAL 2018 BARBARA ALBANESE SERVICE AWARD

The Zonta Club of Morristown Area recently presented their Inaugural Barbara Albanese Service Award to Marissa Steiner of Springfield, NJ. The ceremony was held at The Cosy Cupboard Tea Room in Convent Station. Marissa is a senior at Jonathan Dayton High School. The $500 Award is given to a deserving high school senior girl who has exemplified the qualities and standards of deceased longtime Zonta member, Barbara Albanese.

The Zonta Club of Morristown Area meets monthly at The Cosy Cupboard Tea Room from September through June. Members of the public are welcome to join their meetings.

Some of the organizations the Zonta Club of Morristown Area helps and that the Service Fund supports are: Operation Holiday, Centenary Stage Company’s Women Playwright’s Series, Jersey Battered Women’s Service (JBWS), and the Girl Scouts (GSNNJ). Zonta also provides a scholarship opportunity for a high school girl graduating and going on to study public affairs, as well as numerous other community-based projects.

The Zonta Club of Morristown Area, a local club of Zonta International (zonta.org), meets monthly. Members live in various counties throughout Northern NJ. New members are welcome and can get membership information at zontamorristown.com. Zonta International empowers women worldwide through service and advocacy.
